Hi Everyone
I too would like to say a huge thank you, to all who helped on the stand. To Jane and Brenda, thanks for setting it up the day before. It may be a small space but for Devon Farms, Farmstay and North Devon Farms it really speaks volumes.
There were many of our direct competitors there in the shape of Marsdens and holidaycottages.co.uk who have huge budgets. There was even a whole tent dedicated to travel, including luxury train travel, sandals resorts, trips to goa to name but a few. So for our small group to be out there on a tiny budget well I think THAT IS HUGE!!!!!
As the marketer I to would like to add my voice here to how much I feel yesterday was great platform for raising the group profile. The Sponsorship of the young handlers classes always draws a fine crowd. Our white and pink banner spends all day on the main ring, and as Doris points out all who open the programme and look at the map on the filed every time they get lost see sponsored by US! So all good. The stand was looking great for Devon Farms and Farmstay.
The Lady who runs the franchise for Riverford Organics in this area approached us to see if they may be able to work with some of our members supplying boxes to guests on arrival (Linda also asked if a reciprocal agreement could possibly be reached with our brochures going out in boxes) She took away Farmstay, Devon Farms and North Devon Leaflets when she left.
The Main Mercedes Benz business development manager also approached us all on the stand and offered to come and talk to a meeting about how we can best get tax relief on running our cars etc. Don’t think he would sell many Mercedes to us though! however he took all the brochures away with him to his head office in Exeter and as he made the approach and not us I hope we made a suitable impression!
I also went into Torch vets and persuaded them to take a handful of Farmstay brochures, and the same of Devon Farms and North Devon. I didn’t want to go mad at first approach as it was better to get a foot in the door than be turned down. However Mike was more than happy to have them and said he would also split them up between the small animal surgery next door. So I hope that will help you around South Molton in particular as if they are needing a home for a vet coming down for a job interview you should all have a toe in!
I will also keep in touch with him and see if he would like more in future. Every little helps!
Cheers Val
